The website www.iss-eu.org provides a full guide of all activities of the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS). The Institute was created by the Council of Joint Action on July 10th, 2001 and has the status of an autonomous agency that comes under the EU's second "pillar" -the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). The EUISS contributes to the development of the CFSP by conducting research and provoking debate upon major security and defence issues relevant to the EU, by making predictions and providing analyses for the Council and the High Representative of the EU and finally for supporting the translatlantic dialogue upon all security issues with the countries of Europe, Canada and the US.

Home and About us: Informing us about the new publications, the new seminars and projects of the Institute. The About us and Activities links contain information about the identity of the Institute and all of its activities.

Research Areas: The Institute mainly covers issues on the following domains: EU Foreign Policy, Security and Defence Policy and Global Governance. Within this section the users will find information about the action taken on the above domains in the areas of US, Western Balkans, Africa, Meditarrenean, Middle East, Russia and Asia.

Publications: In this link the user can find information about the Institute's publications by accessing three sub-links -about the Chaillot Papers, the Occasional Papers and the Newsletters.

Seminars: All users can be informed via this link, about all the seminars, conferences and task forces, offered intending to enhance the EU's analytical capacity.
